HEST Upcoming Parent Events

This month we will be welcoming two professionals from the SEND Education Support Service (ESS). The SEND Education Support Service (SEND ESS) is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Advisory Teachers, Advisors, Counsellors, Specialist Assistants and Officers. All come from a range of backgrounds, all of whom have relevant experience supporting children with SEND and are specialists in their field. Please note your child must be attending a Havering school to be able to join. Unfortunately, these events are for parents only and we are unable to accommodate for children, however we welcome mothers who need to bring a baby under 3 Months old.

Parent Intimate Care & Toilet Training Online Workshop - Monday 8th June

Please find information below about an upcoming online workshop for parents, which will be delivered via Microsoft Teams on Monday 8th June at 10:00am. The session will focus on intimate care and toilet training, with a SEND-specific approach. It will include: -Guidance on parents’ expectations of schools in relation to intimate care -Information on policies and toileting care plans -Practical strategies, advice and tips to support children’s toileting needs -The latest toileting guidance for families We are particularly encouraging attendance from parents of children starting school in September, as the workshop will provide helpful preparation for transition into reception, but all are welcome to join.

Online Parent Workshop – Building Confidence and Resilience in Children

Date and time: Thursday 21st May 5.30-6.30pm This workshop will be covering: Signs that a child struggles with their confidence and resilience Exploring your child's feelings and supporting them with their emotions How to encourage independent behaviours and self-belief The workshop is aimed at parents of both primary and secondary aged children.
